My name is Mary Muthuri, and I am the owner of Kenya Mama’s Kitchen, which was established in February 2022. I was born and raised in Kenya, in a home where the robust flavors of East Africa were an integral part of our culinary culture. When our family moved to the U.S., we were excited to continue cooking the dishes we loved back home. But the seasoning blends we found on shelves here just didn’t work—they had ingredients we couldn’t pronounce and flavors that didn’t feel right.
